The Private Client Team at Mayo Wynne Baxter have extensive experience and knowledge across a broad range of private client matters. The issues which they resolve and advise on can be sensitive and distressing for clients, so our team apply their professionalism and empathy at all times. They specialise in a wide range of areas, including trust law, probate law, Will writing and Lasting Power of Attorney advice. Find out more about the team . What you will be doing: This is an exceptional opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Private Client team. This could suit a law graduate looking for a first position in their legal career or someone looking to take the next step into a Paralegal position. Ideally you will have the ability to work independently and have a high standard of interpersonal and communication skills. Your key duties will be;
- to act as Gatekeeper for the department for new Private Client enquiries, making initial appointments and sending initial letters
- assisting legal advisers with administrative tasks on their legal matters and chasing third parties to facilitate progress of the matter
- to process all client requests for copies of, or withdrawal from storage of, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney including invoicing the clients for copies and certification where appropriate
- support the department legal advisers in all offices
a positive and friendly manner in dealing with clients, referrers and colleagues - ability to manage your workload and when to request additional input
- ability to provide excellent client service
- experience working within a legal environment - desirable
- a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment
- excellent organisational and prioritising skills
- the ability to work in a busy team
- excellent communication skills
