Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Healthcare - London is recruiting for a skilled clinical sonographer, who demonstrates excellent clinical ability, organization and interpersonal skills. The post holder will support the development of the rapidly growing Radiology Department. The sonographer will provide general abdominal, pelvic, TV, venous, arterial and carotid Doppler scans. The sonographer will be involved in the provision of highly patient oriented clinical service and will help support new research projects. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers and nurses. The sonographer will undertake, without immediate supervision, a full range of screening diagnostic sonography procedures and develop skills at interpreting complex clinical information, independent reporting, responding to changes promptly and appropriately.

  • Vascular (carotids mainly)
  • Small parts (thyroid, salivary glands)
  • Liver elastography
  • MSK (synovitis scoring)

Qualifications

Required to hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Radiography or equivalent. Post-graduate diploma in medical ultrasound or equivalent and demonstrate relevant experience in a broad range of sonography procedures. The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience. Experience running ultrasound lists facilitating quick diagnosis and treatment. Able to professionally communicate (verbally and written) in English. Experience working in a team environment. Prior experience with electronic medical record systems, Biotronics and PACS preferred. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills. Experience in private healthcare preferred. Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom (relocation is not offered).
