Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London has an exciting bank/supplemental opportunity to join their Cardiology team as a Chief Cardiac Physiologist! The Chief Cardiac Physiologist will be exceptionally skilled and specialised in echocardiography, and shows evidence of excellent clinical ability. The post holder will be keen to support the development of the rapidly growing Cardiology Department.
The echo service includes:
- Adult TTE
- TOE
- DSE
- Exercise stress echo
- Contrast and bubble echo procedures
- Physiologist led exercise treadmill tolerance tests
- Holter service
The postholder will be involved in the provision of highly patient-oriented clinical service and will help support new research projects in collaboration with researchers from the US. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers, and nurses. The post holder will undertake, without immediate supervision, a full range of diagnostic cardiac clinical physiology procedures and develop skills at interpreting complex clinical information, responding to changes promptly and appropriately.
Must hold an individual BSE/EACVI Adult TTE accreditation. Must be eligible to obtain one of the following Professional Council Registrations within 1 year of hire: RCCP/AHCS, HCPC or equivalent.
Qualifications:
- Required to hold a BSc (Hons) degree, BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or equivalent in Clinical Physiology.
- Demonstrate relevant post qualification experience in a broad range of cardiac physiology procedures.
- Two years clinical experience post BSE/EACVI or equivalent accreditation.
- Experience in ECG and stress testing preferred.
- Experience running stress echo service and assisting with TOEs procedures preferred.
- Must be able to report to a high standard, following the institutional templates and protocols for imaging with reference to latest BSE/EACVI guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment.
- MS Office computer skills required.
- Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Experience in private healthcare preferred.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom; relocation is NOT offered.
- Must be fluent in English.
