HGV Class 2 (LGV C) Driver – Gateshead
The Best Connection are currently seeking to recruit experienced HGV Class 2 (LGV C) drivers to work with our client based in Gateshead. Our client specialises in the delivery of ambient, chilled, and frozen food and drink products across the North East.
- Multi‑drop Class 2 driving, delivering to high‑security establishments.
- Use of tail‑lift and wheeling cages to the rear of the vehicle.
- Fast, efficient, and accurate deliveries on scheduled routes.
- Customer‑facing role with a friendly and professional attitude.
Requirements:
- Valid and in‑date Cat C driving licence, CPC card, and Digital Tachograph card.
- Minimum 2 years Class 2 driving experience.
- Smart appearance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude towards customer service.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 07:00am start time
Pay Rates (PAYE): £17.26 per hour basic rate for first 45 hours per week, £25.14 per hour overtime rate after first 45 hours per week
Minimum Assignment Length: 4 weeks
HGV1 Driver – Newcastle

- No loading or unloading required: focus on driving safely, providing good customer service, and working positively with other members of the team.
Requirements:
- Valid C+E Class 1 licence with no more than six penalty points (no DD, DR or IN endorsements).
- Driver CPC card with no current suspension or revocation.
- Right to work in the UK.
- English language skills for safety.
- Willing to undergo a Background Check and Drug and Alcohol test.
- Willing to work night shifts.
- Minimum 2 years C+E Class 1 experience.
