The Head of Communications owns how the platform communicates across brand, PR, editorial, product copy, localization, and external storytelling. This role sets the standard for written communication across the Brand organization, ensuring our language is clear, human, credible, culturally aware, and strategically sharp. We are an international platform with an English-first communication standard, so this role requires exceptional English-language writing, strong cultural judgment, and the ability to shape messages that work across global markets. We need someone with real mastery of language, strong narrative instincts, and the judgment to own high-stakes communication without heavy oversight. This role leads Brand Copy, Copy & Localization, PR, and editorial direction for the company blog. They act as the final approval layer for written output across the Brand organization and report directly to the Head of Brand.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own communication standards across Brand.
  • Lead brand storytelling across key channels.
  • Own PR, press, and crisis communications.
  • Set editorial direction for the blog.
  • Support performer education and guidance.
  • Lead strategic trust and reputation projects.
  • Manage Brand Copy and high-stakes writing.
  • Build scalable editorial systems and workflows.
  • Partner with Product, Brand Marketing, Community, Legal, and Support.
  • Represent the brand at selected industry moments.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in communications, editorial, brand, content, PR, journalism, or a related field.
  • Exceptional English-language writing ability, with near-native command of tone, rhythm, nuance, structure, idiom, and natural human voice.
  • Strong editorial judgment, taste, and narrative instinct.
  • Strong understanding of brand storytelling, positioning, and messaging.
  • Experience owning PR, media relations, external communications, or reputation-sensitive messaging.
  • Strong international communication judgment across markets, cultures, and audiences.
  • Experience working with digital products, platforms, or product teams.
  • Ability to shape editorial content, audience resources, guides, explainers, or educational materials into clear, useful communication.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience setting standards, giving feedback, and improving team output.
  • High ownership and accountability, with the ability to operate independently and take responsibility for work that goes live.
  • Experience building editorial standards, brand voice systems, or messaging frameworks.
  • Experience managing a blog, editorial platform, resource hub, or audience education system.
  • Experience working with localization, multilingual products, or global communications.
  • Experience in entertainment, creator economy, gaming, media, live-streaming, or culture-driven consumer brands.
  • Experience leading crisis, trust, ethics, safety, policy, or reputation communications.
