Reception and Venue Security Assistant
30 Hours per week
Mayflower Theatre is the largest theatre on the South Coast with 2,271 seats in the auditorium. The Theatre\’s aim is to bring a diverse range of shows to Southampton. We present a mixture of spectacular touring productions, from musicals to dance, opera, drama, ballet and comedy.
MAST Mayflower Studios is a cultural and community hub. We present family shows, dance, musicals, music, comedy, circus, cabaret, spoken word, and visual arts. We put participation at the heart of everything we do.
Both the Theatre and Studios operate under the Mayflower brand. Collectively we provide Inspiring Experiences to all who engage with each venue.
This role will be across both of our venues, however the majority of the role will be based at Mayflower Studios.
Reception and Security Assistant
Your main responsibilities will be:
· Unlocking/locking the building
· Monitoring CCTV
- Providing excellent customer service to visitors to Reception, welcoming them in a polite and professional manner and ensuring they are guided appropriately.
- Assisting in providing a safe & secure environment throughout the building.
- Ensuring visitors are aware of the organisation\’s relevant safe practices whilst visiting.
- Supporting the administrative tasks of the department.
- Supporting customers with booking enquiries and operate the shop /merchandise counter as appropriate.
Our ideal applicant will have experience with:
- Security and fire alarms (including CCTV monitoring)
- Reception/customer service
- Security in a public venue
- Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) and See, Check and Notify (SCaN) protocols
- Security Industry Authority Licence (SIA) preferred
The role is 30 hours per week. The days will be varied and will include evening and weekends, therefore flexibility is essential.
Salary is £20,841 per annum (£13.36 per hour) with benefits.
