We require a RAN Software Engineer to further develop our 5G Software Stack
Location and Travel
- Primary business location is Farnborough, Hampshire.
- Position is an on-site or hybrid role
- Travel within the UK and internationally may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development of a 5G Standalone Software Stack
- Scope, design and support the implementation of our software stack in a greenfield environment
- Participate in Product Development and Project Rollout (Design, Build, Test and Deploy)
- Work with the Mobile Core and IT teams to further develop an end-to-end solution
- Provide technical feedback to the Software and Hardware development teams
- Act as an escalation point during operational issues
- Support the creation of operational processes within the business for all supporting business customer and end-consumer journeys utilizing the platform
- Interface with and manage vendors or partners in the solution
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential Experience
- Ability to develop in C with demonstrable experience in a Linux environment.
- Knowledge or ability to understand and interpret technical specifications
- Experience in working and developing in an agile way-of-working and associated tooling.
- Good working knowledge of Mobile Service Platforms, Smartphones, Mobile Broadband devices (modems, routers) and related applications
Desirable Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in engineering software in eNodeB or gNodeB stacks
- 5G CU/RU/DU architecture, 5G data, messaging or popular internet communication service architecture.
- Experience in certifying solutions with bodies such as 3GPP and O-RAN
- Experience in working with Software Defined Radio and/or Digital Signal Processing
- Demonstrable experience in designing and deploying enterprise-grade mobile solutions

- Pro-active individual with the ability and desire to work in an established yet growing start-up environment without the support of larger telecommunication companies processes and methodologies.
- Ability to communicate to customer and internal stakeholders, via presentation and other documentation types, both remotely and in-person
- A team builder, who will facilitate inter-team communication and possibly build their own.
