FIXED 2 WEEK ROTA
- Week 1: Saturday & Sunday 10pm-7am
- Week 2: Tuesday 7pm-7am & Friday 10pm-7am
DBS is payable by the individual, refunded after 12 months (£70).
Uniforms are purchased by the individual.
Responsibilities include:
- Complying with the home's Health & Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health regulations.
- Complying with latest infection prevention regulations and practices throughout the home.
- Attending and contributing to staff appraisal meetings.
- Maintaining confidentiality on all aspects of care and your work within the home.
- Having a working knowledge of the home's policies and procedures.
- Establishing good relationships with the Service Users, relatives, colleagues, and other people visiting the home.
- Assisting clients with all aspects of personal care including oral hygiene, catheter care, and supporting with incontinence aids where required, encouraging independence and maintaining dignity throughout.
- Carrying out regular checks throughout the night taking into account the Service Users' privacy.
- Participating and coordinating meaningful activities and supporting external entertainers in the home and promoting engagement and fun within the home.
- Completing daily, accurate and factual documentation on the caredocs system.
- Obtaining specimens for analysis (blood, urine, faecal, and sputum) if trained and confident in performing these duties.
- Assisting with serving meals and other domestic duties including food preparation in the evening and laundry throughout your shift.
- Assisting Service Users with eating their meals if required.
- Communicating to the registered manager if any serious or unsafe events occur.
- Completion of accident and incident forms as accurately and timely as possible.
- Responding to service user requests, including answering call bell systems.
- Contacting relatives and NOK to make them aware of requirements for toiletries, clothing or incontinence products.
- Having a working knowledge of the home's emergency procedures.
- Attending internal and external training as required and completing all allocated mandatory training within your probation period.
- Undertaking a responsible attitude towards economy, care of equipment, and property.
- Working alongside other colleagues to ensure safe practices are being carried out on every shift.
- Ensuring all residents receive person-centred quality care.
- Commitment to supporting and promoting independence for service users on a short-term contract.
- Understanding and ability to professionally support individuals and their families where EOL or palliative care is in place.
Note: In addition to the responsibilities listed above, it may be necessary to perform other duties not listed. Consideration will be given to your skills and status when requesting you to perform these duties.
