The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Due to the growth of the Company, we are currently looking to recruit a permanent Trainee Engineering Estimator to work within our Planning and Estimating Department on a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering projects. The successful candidate would be expected, through mentoring, to produce accurate and detailed manufacturing cost estimates generated from detailed client manufacturing drawings covering a wide variety of both fabrication and machining work. The company’s client base is wide ranging as is the extent of our manufacturing capability and, in recognition of this, we would provide full support and back-up during the successful candidate's introduction to the company’s Estimating function.

In time, it would be expected that the Trainee Estimator would gain clear understanding and experience in the following:

  • Production of accurate written tenders.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Sourcing of materials and components to compile accurate quotations.
  • Liaising with customers.

Skills & attributes required for the role:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years experience within an engineering role.
  • A good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Well organised and methodical.
  • Ability to work to deadline.
  • Estimating experience within an engineering background would be advantageous but not essential.

This permanent position offers great potential for advancement within a very pro-active and progressive organisation with an excellent remuneration package including the following benefits:

  • Competitive Salary – Dependent upon experience
  • 37 hours working week – Early finish on Friday
  • 33 Days holiday per year (25 days + 8 statutory)
