Due to the growth of the Company, we are currently looking to recruit a permanent Trainee Engineering Estimator to work within our Planning and Estimating Department on a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering projects. The successful candidate would be expected, through mentoring, to produce accurate and detailed manufacturing cost estimates generated from detailed client manufacturing drawings covering a wide variety of both fabrication and machining work. The company's client base is wide ranging as is the extent of our manufacturing capability and, in recognition of this, we would provide full support and back-up during the successful candidate's introduction to the company's Estimating function.
Responsibilities
- Production of accurate written tenders.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Sourcing of materials and components to compile accurate quotations.
- Liaising with customers.
Skills & Attributes Required
- Candidates must have a minimum of three years experience within an engineering role.
- A good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Attention to accuracy and detail.
- Well organised and methodical.
- Ability to work to deadline.
- Estimating experience within an engineering background would be advantageous but not essential.
