Mayflower Engineering is a market leading, well established Sheffield based company, specialising in the design and manufacture of Mechanical Engineering projects and products, working within a variety of market sectors to deliver exceptional engineering solutions. We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Plater / Fabricator to work on a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering projects. Successful candidates must be time served or able to demonstrate a competency through experience within the workplace. The individual will be required to ensure that jobs are manufactured in accordance with supplied technical drawings and produce work within the required timeframes whilst consistently achieving our quality standard (BSEN ISO 9001). Platers work in an assembly function and work is issued as a 'kit of parts'. Sizes of jobs undertaken can range from small brackets to 20T fabrications, using predominantly mild steels varying from 6mm to 100mm in thickness. Essential Experience: * Experience within a fabrication environment. * The ability to read, understand and work to engineering drawings. * Overhead crane operating experience. * A high standard of safety awareness and housekeeping. * Some welding experience would be advantageous Personal Qualities Required: * A team player willing to assist fellow colleagues. * A good verbal communicator.
