Mayflower Care Home | Northfleet, Gravesend (DA11 7DX)
There’s something special about Mayflower Care Home. Set in the heart of Northfleet, our 76-bed service has long been a pillar of support for local families - a place where compassionate nursing and dementia care meet genuine warmth, comfort, and consistency. With three beautifully designed floors and a strong, established team, Mayflower continues to be recognised for its stability, 95% occupancy, and Good CQC rating.
Now, as our current Home Manager moves on to a new internal opportunity, we’re looking for a successor who will nurture what’s already working - someone who leads through people, connection, and quiet confidence rather than dramatic change.
The Opportunity
As Home Manager, you’ll guide an experienced, capable team through the next chapter of Mayflower’s journey. This isn’t a turnaround role - it’s a chance to protect and strengthen a thriving home with a well-earned reputation for high-quality care and community trust. You’ll bring the kind of leadership that inspires steady excellence, a balance of professional insight, emotional intelligence, and the ability to “win hearts and minds.” You’ll ensure the team continues to feel valued and supported as we integrate new company systems helping everyone adapt without losing focus on what matters most: our residents. Working alongside a skilled Clinical Deputy, you’ll lead with autonomy and authority, ensuring quality standards, budgets, and occupancy remain strong while continuing to deliver the personalised, dignified care families in Northfleet have come to expect.
About You
You’re an experienced Home Manager who takes pride in leading from the front - calm, consistent, and deeply committed to delivering exceptional dementia care. You understand the dynamics of a large, busy home and know how to balance quality, compliance, and compassion with commercial focus. Your leadership style is open and inclusive; you bring people with you, earning trust through clear communication and genuine care. You’re passionate about supporting those living with dementia, creating a home where residents feel safe, understood and valued, and where staff feel motivated and supported to give their best. Whether you’re a nurse or a non-nurse, what matters most is your proven ability to run a stable, high-performing home and build lasting relationships with families, regulators, and your team.
What You’ll Bring
- A friendly, positive and supportive approach.
- Creativity and confidence in leading and motivating others.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
- A real passion for making life meaningful for residents and staff alike.
