We are seeking exceptional individuals to join our team at our Chestnut Centre in Brixham which provides support to children at Key Stage 1 and 2 who are experiencing difficulties in maintaining a placement in mainstream school as a result of their social, emotional or behavioral needs. Chestnut consists of small class groups and supporting 1:1 for learning and supporting emotional regulation.

We have various contracts available: Permanent, Fixed Term (various lengths), Part and Full Time. Further details will be given during the interviews. The successful applicants will have proven experience of working with children with challenging and vulnerable behaviours and will be able to demonstrate commitment and expertise in improving educational and social outcomes for them. Knowledge of the primary curriculum and experience of supporting children with a range of interventions in literacy and numeracy is essential. Knowledge of Thrive would be a distinct advantage.

The working day is from 8.55 am - 3.40 pm. Full time hours are 32.5 hours across 5 days a week for 39 weeks per year (term time only). Our Pastoral Assistants start on a Level 2 TA contract (Level 3 contracts may be offered if there is substantial previous experience which can be discussed at interview). The actual starting salary for a Level 2 TA is £19,635.31 per annum based on 5 days a week, term time only.

The interview will be a panel interview - to include a short, informal presentation, along with time spent with pupils.
