Position: Residential Children's Manager

Location: Derby

Salary: >Β£70k

Role: Permanent

This role does not offer sponsorship and you must hold a valid driving license.

Overview

Mayfield Recruitment are currently looking for an Experienced Residential Children's Manager in the Derby area on a permanent basis. The position requires ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care to all residents and having experience in EBD.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the home's ethos is embedded in daily practice and children are actively involved in their care.
  • Lead safeguarding, risk management, and overall governance to maintain a safe environment.
  • Oversee access to health, education, social, and emotional support tailored to each child's needs.
  • Monitor children's outcomes and progress, ensuring positive developmental results.
  • Supervise, support, and develop staff through guidance, performance management, and professional development.
  • Lead recruitment, induction, team building, and manage staffing structures, rotas, and on-call schedules.
  • Maintain a safe, well-equipped home and manage budgets, resources, and administrative functions.
  • Conduct quality audits, manage complaints, and ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and SSCIF.
  • Prepare for Ofsted inspections, maintain constructive relationships with inspectors, and submit required Regulation 44 and 45 reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience with children.
  • Supervisory or Management experience within a children's setting.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or working towards).
  • NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience in working with children with EBD.
  • Children and Young People's Workforce level 3 or 4.
  • Must have a clean full driving license.
