Mayfield Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of teachers and leaders by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities and specialist provision within The Hive and wider inclusion support across school. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering highly adapted learning activities for pupils with complex SEND and additional needs under an agreed system of supervision. Responsibilities
- Leading day‑to‑day organisation and delivery of the 'The Hive' provision, creating a calm, purposeful and inclusive environment which supports pupils’ readiness to learn, emotional regulation and engagement with education.
- Working closely with the SENDCO, class teachers and senior leaders to ensure pupils with complex SEND and additional needs receive high‑quality, personalised support and provision.
- Planning, preparing and delivering highly adapted learning activities for individuals and small groups of pupils.
- Delivering targeted interventions and bespoke programmes linked to pupils' individual outcomes, EHCP provision and support plans.
- Promoting inclusion and support pupils to successfully access mainstream learning and wider school life wherever possible.
Qualifications & Experience
- Is a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with experience of working with children with SEND within a primary school setting.
- Experience of supporting pupils with complex additional needs, including cognition and learning difficulties, autism, SEMH needs, communication and interaction needs and sensory needs.
- Understands how to support children with SEMH and additional needs in a respectful, inclusive way.
- Experience of planning, preparing and delivering highly adapted learning activities and interventions.
- Works well as part of a team and shares ideas to improve provision.
- Is passionate about making a difference especially for children who need extra support to succeed.
