Help shape the future of an ambitious, clinically-led healthcare organisation.
Mayfield Clinic is a well-established, GP-led private primary care organisation with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. From our Oxford headquarters we provide both remote and face-to-face GP services through a growing network of satellite clinics across the UK.
As we continue through an exciting period of expansion, we are seeking an experienced Head of Quality, Compliance & Governance to work closely with our senior leadership team to ensure our governance, compliance and quality systems evolve alongside the organisation.
Initially offered as a fractional appointment, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing healthcare business, with scope to develop into a larger leadership position as the organisation expands.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and working alongside the Chief of Staff and our Clinical Lead, who is also the Registered Manager, you will become the organisation's lead for quality, governance and regulatory compliance.
Your first priority will be to gain a thorough understanding of the organisation, review our current governance arrangements, identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical, proportionate systems that support safe, efficient and scalable service delivery.
This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring someone who is equally comfortable developing strategy and implementing practical improvements.
About Us
We are an established independent primary care provider delivering private GP services from our Oxford clinic and an expanding network of satellite clinics throughout the UK.
Our clinical team consists of experienced General Practitioners together with a Clinical Psychologist, supported by a small, highly committed administrative team.
We believe that excellent healthcare depends upon:
- Clinical excellence
- Professional integrity
- Thoughtful, proportionate governance
- Continuous quality improvement

We embrace technology where it improves patient care while maintaining the personal approach that defines high-quality general practice.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead and oversee the organisation's approach to:
- CQC regulation and inspection frameworks.
- Clinical governance.
- Regulatory compliance, including ongoing compliance with CQC requirements and other relevant healthcare legislation.
- Clinical governance and organisational quality assurance.

- Development and maintenance of the organisation's information governance framework, including policies relating to data security, records management, retention, confidentiality and information sharing.
- Risk management, maintaining organisational risk registers and ensuring that compliance risks are appropriately identified, assessed and managed.
- Internal audits, quality assurance programmes and continuous quality improvement.
- Preparation for inspections, external audits and regulatory reviews.
- Governance reporting to the senior leadership team.
- Embedding governance and compliance processes across the organisation and ensuring that agreed improvements become part of day-to-day practice.
- Working collaboratively with clinical and operational colleagues to ensure governance supports excellent patient care while remaining practical, proportionate and scalable.
Future Development
As the organisation continues to grow, there is an opportunity for this role to develop into a broader organisational leadership position.
Depending upon the successful candidate's experience and interests, the portfolio may evolve to include wider responsibilities for organisational quality, patient experience, complaints oversight and customer service excellence, ensuring that patient feedback continues to inform service improvement and organisational learning.
