We are one of the many casino operators, bringing entertainment to the city’s gaming and leisure scene. Behind the buzz of our casino is a finance team ensuring everything runs smoothly and that’s where you come in. We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.
What We Need from You
- Previous experience working within a similar accountancy role
- Exposure to production of management accounts
- Part qualified or Qualified by Experience
- Good understanding of accounting principles
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Eager to learn and develop professionally
- Well-organised with good time management and able to work to deadlines
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the production of accurate and timely financial information that underpins business performance and decision-making. Specifically, you will take responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts with commentaries, prepare and post month end journals, including accruals and prepayments, reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyse variances against budgets to provide clear, meaningful insight.
You will oversee payroll across all entities, ensuring starters, leavers and contractual changes are processed accurately, pensions and benefits are administered correctly, and robust controls and confidentiality are maintained at all times. Maintaining precise financial records, you will seek to prevent errors through accurate accounting and support the smooth operation of the finance department as a whole.
Additionally, you will:
- Maintain and update financial models, spreadsheets and the fixed asset register
- Respond to payroll queries
- Support month-end and year-end close procedures
- Assist with the annual audit process
- Contribute to statutory reporting requirements
- Support sales and purchase ledger activities as required
- Set up bank payments where necessary
