Purpose of the Role

The Advisor: Practice Enablement & Adoption extends the firm’s IT mission ensuring that technology investments are fully leveraged, innovations are adopted, and lawyers and clients experience measurable benefit. The role focuses on uncovering operational pain points, unmet client needs, and opportunities for innovation, and drives the adoption and enablement of legal technology solutions across the firm’s transactional practices.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with lawyers, clients, and business services to map and evaluate current processes, capturing user stories, best practices, insights and maintaining a knowledge base.
  • Support the firm’s idea intake process by collecting information from the submitter, evaluating, scoring, and prioritizing ideas, and translating feedback into clear problem statements.
  • Lead design‑thinking sessions, co‑lead process‑improvement workshops, pilots, and rollouts in partnership with the Practice Technology team and stakeholders.
  • Develop targeted outreach through listening sessions, practice presentations, and vendor days to increase lawyer awareness and engagement with existing investments and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Technology team to build prototypes, validate solutions, and customize templates or pilot/custom‑build solutions for practice needs.
  • Collaborate with Practice Technology and Learning & Development to deliver tailored training, awareness sessions, and direct support, focusing on building confidence, adoption, and measurable ROI.
  • Work with other business departments (Knowledge Management, Practice Management, Information Services, Legal Risk Management, Business Development & Marketing, etc.) to solve the issue holistically and onboard vendors.
  • Monitor legal technology trends and emerging vendors, sharing insights with firm and IT leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet firm goals and objectives.
  • Align working hours as necessary to support global teams and business partners.

Qualifications

  • JD or master’s degree; bachelor’s degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a legal environment (law firm, legal department, or legal‑tech solution provider).

Professional Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic legal technology projects and implementing solutions in a large law firm, corporate or financial institution legal department, or enterprise level (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the lifecycle of a transactional legal matter (preferred).
  • Experience increasing adoption of legal tech tools and methods of engaging and enabling lawyers.
  • Experience in business analysis, solution design, consulting and/or client‑facing roles.
  • Demonstrated use of business requirements elicitation and documentation skills.

Technical Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma) and deployment tools (process maps, fishbone diagrams, root cause analysis).
  • Experience with project management principles, including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methods, and knowing when to use each.

Preferred

  • Strong ability to engage in design thinking, conceptualising and implementing projects from end‑to‑end, and determining required skills and techniques.
  • Working proficiency in French or German (advantage).
