Mayer Brown is seeking a talented and motivated Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join our expanding Transport Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leading role in delivering development-led projects and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of transport planning projects, including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and feasibility studies.
  • The role involves working closely with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to provide high-quality, commercially aware advice.
  • You will also contribute to business development, support junior staff and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception through to completion.
  • Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Statements and supporting technical documents.
  • Undertake and interpret transport modelling and analysis (including TRICS, TEMPro, junction modelling).
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Contribute to project financial management and fee proposals.
  • Support business development and client account growth.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in development-led transport planning.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience or understanding of the retail sector would be highly beneficial.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant industry tools (e.g. TRICS, TEMPro, LinSig, TRANSYT).
  • Commercial awareness and experience in client-facing roles.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards).

Location

The role is ideally based in our Woking office, although we will consider candidates based in London or other locations depending on experience.
