Mayer Brown is seeking a talented and motivated Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join our expanding Transport Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leading role in delivering development-led projects and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of transport planning projects, including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and feasibility studies. The role involves working closely with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to provide high-quality, commercially aware advice. You will also contribute to business development, support junior staff and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception through to completion
- Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Statements and supporting technical documents
- Undertake and interpret transport modelling and analysis (including TRICS, TEMPro, junction modelling)
- Liaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to project financial management and fee proposals
- Support business development and client account growth
About You
- Experience in development-led transport planning
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Experience or understanding of the retail sector would be highly beneficial
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry tools
- Commercial awareness and experience in client-facing roles
- Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards)
Location
The role is ideally based in our Woking office, although we will consider candidates based in London or other locations depending on experience.
