The role would focus on providing drainage and highway infrastructure design on all types and sizes of new development, supporting and collaborating with project managers from across the business to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. We are keen to ensure that we continue to provide the high-quality innovative solutions and service that our clients have come to expect from us.
- Develop technical highway and drainage designs to support S104, S38 and S278 applications.
- Manage projects with moderate supervision ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to an excellent standard.
- Write reports and liaise with Clients / Project Managers on the management and co-ordination of projects.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in infrastructure engineering and construction.
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer with strong AutoCAD and Civils 3D skills to join Mayer Brown Limited. A creative mindset would be advantageous. Additionally, you will be self-motivated, able to conduct independent research, and produce high-quality reports.
- A degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in UK development-related infrastructure engineering.
- Demonstrate suitable knowledge of relevant design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, local road standards and relevant planning policy.
- Be experienced in the preparation of highways and drainage design and in particular S38, S278 and S104 processes.
- Knowledge and application of drainage design from first principles and experience in the use of Microdrainage and/or Causeway flow software.
- Have experience in writing flood risk assessments or drainage strategies for development projects.
- Be motivated, enthusiastic and committed to further developing your career in Civil Engineering.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and welcome competence in Power BI and Access).
- Have basic skills or a good understanding of AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
- A full UK driving license, as the role may require you to visit sites only accessible by car.
