The Manager: Business Development role supports the Finance practice and related initiatives across our London and European offices. The position is based in London.
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility in accordance with the needs of the business. Our current working‑from‑home policy allows for two days working from home, subject to business need.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support the implementation of BD&M business plans and budgets for assigned department(s), practice(s), client team(s), industry group(s), product group(s) and/or regional initiative(s).
- Work with assigned partner leaders and BD&M leadership to advance objectives outlined in strategic business plans, including development of key strategic initiatives and marketing campaigns.
- Support defined product, practice or industry group teams, including client team support.
- Lead, manage and contribute to responses to RFPs, pitches, presentations and other commercial opportunities, liaising with the global BD&M team for content and brand consistency.
- Develop thought leadership and marketing campaigns to raise the profile of the industry group across platforms, including social media, in partnership with the firm’s PR team.
- Manage initiatives related to seminars, sponsorships, webinars (internal and external) and other events pursued by assigned teams and initiatives.
- Prepare reports on client markets, trends and developments for assigned teams and initiatives.
- Manage regular communications and interaction with assigned teams, including responsibility for regular meetings, reports, analysis and progress monitoring.
- Facilitate introductions with relevant groups and lawyers, and during relevant team meetings.
- Collect and integrate experience for the department, practice, industry group and office materials, brochures and website sections, and review and consult with lawyers on bios and practice descriptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet firm goals and objectives.
Qualifications, Experience, and Personal Attributes
- Education: Degree level or equivalent. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered where experience directly relates to the role.
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated success in marketing, management, or communications within professional services, financial services, or comparable corporate sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including working knowledge of MS Excel; familiarity with research databases for competitive intelligence preferred.
- Performance Traits: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the firm and external vendors.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a diverse team environment and support demanding firm needs in an organized manner.
