The Role: The Senior Conflicts Lawyer will support the Legal Risk Management department in clearing conflicts, reviewing outside counsel guidelines and addressing questions related to professional responsibility and legal risk issues arising across the firm's global offices.
Hours: Standard hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm with flexibility in accordance with the needs of the business. Our current working from home policy allows for two days working from home, subject to business need. This policy is subject to change and does not form part of contractual terms.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, identifying and resolving potential ethical and business conflicts of interest issues with respect to clients, matters and new business and incoming lateral lawyers
- Conducting thorough reviews of conflicts of interest reports, resolving issues identified on a timely basis
- Working closely with members of Conflicts and New Business Intake Departments
- Coordinating search requests and communicate with attorneys across the Firm
- Assisting firm lawyers with client engagement letters and waivers
- Reviewing and negotiating outside counsel guidelines and other client-provided terms and requirements
- Advising firm lawyers on ethics and professional responsibility questions, and other legal risk issues arising across the firm's global platform
- Staying current on recent research and thinking on ethics and conflicts best practices and rules across jurisdictions in which the Firm has offices
- Undertaking collateral duties and special projects as needed to support the Legal Risk Management department

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes: Qualified Lawyer (England and Wales) with a minimum of 5 years related experience in Conflicts and Legal Risk Management.
Experience, skills and personal attributes:
- Knowledge of the SRA Codes of Conduct / conflicts laws applicable to lawyers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with new software systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation
- Good attention to detail; analytical rigor and problem solving skills
- Ability to digest large volumes of information
- Familiarity with the rules of professional responsibility
- Work independently, efficiently and handle multiple assignments
