We are looking for a talented and passionate Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term basis, at the award-winning 5-Star Deluxe hotel – The Connaught. The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and accurate operation of the hotel’s finance function. Working closely with the Finance team, you will assist across a broad range of accounting and administrative activities, ensuring financial records are maintained with precision, integrity, and care. This is a role for someone who values accuracy, thrives on organisation, and understands that excellence lives in the detail.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately record financial transactions and maintain comprehensive supporting documentation
  • Process supplier invoices, employee expenses, and payment runs in line with company controls
  • Reconcile supplier statements and credit card transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Assist with accounts receivable, issuing invoices and following up outstanding balances
  • Prepare and post commissions for travel agents and banqueting partners
  • Support audits by providing clear, well-organised documentation
  • Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team and assist with ad hoc projects as required

  • Confident working with numbers, systems, and financial data
  • Experienced in an accounts or finance role, ideally within luxury hospitality or a service-led environment
  • Comfortable using MS Excel and finance systems
