Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight: Assist the Housekeeping Manager in coordinating and supervising daily housekeeping operations, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and laundry services, to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and provide guidance to housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeeping porters and laundry attendants, ensuring they are properly trained, motivated, and equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Absence & Performance Management: Support the management of attendance, return-to-work meetings, and performance reviews, escalating concerns appropriately and following company policies.
  • Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Assist in developing work schedules, assigning tasks, and allocating resources effectively to meet operational demands while optimizing productivity and controlling labour costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, Surrenne longevity and wellbeing centre, Gym, swimming pool area, Food and Beverage outlets, event spaces and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with luxury standards, addressing any deficiencies promptly and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, monitoring usage and replenishment processes to minimize waste and ensure seamless operations.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Collaborate with the Guest Services departments to address guest requests, inquiries, and concerns related to housekeeping services promptly and effectively, striving to exceed expectations and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Maintenance schedule: Collaborate with the Technical Services team to ensure proper reporting of maintenance issues and that appropriate corrective measures are put in place.
  • Training and Development: Support the Housekeeping Manager in training and developing housekeeping staff, providing guidance on cleaning techniques, service standards, and professionalism to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations and protocols, conducting regular inspections and training sessions to promote a safe working environment and prevent accidents or incidents.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Assist in preparing reports and maintaining records related to housekeeping operations, performance metrics, guest feedback, and budgetary expenses, providing insights and recommendations for improvement to management.
