Human Resources

The Human Resources department at Claridge’s is the place where every interaction shapes the hotel’s culture, and where colleagues are supported with the same care and respect extended to our guests. As part of the team, your days will be dedicated to attracting, nurturing and supporting exceptional talent and guiding and supporting colleagues and managers with discretion, empathy and clarity.

As Assistant Director of Human Resources your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a strategic partner to department heads, providing advice and guidance to all departments within Claridge’s across the Human Resources remit, including; recruitment and selection, performance management, employee relations, payroll, reward and recognition and engagement and wellbeing.
  • Provide effective leadership throughout the department, developing a strong team culture and ethos which supports high levels of guest service delivery, effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and suggest initiatives and schemes to enhance Claridge’s colleague proposition.
  • Support colleagues and managers with succession planning initiatives which support retention of talent within Claridge’s and Maybourne.
  • Assisting in the training and development of colleagues alongside the Assistant Director of Learning and Development.
  • Handle employee relations related matters and seek advice when required, ensuring company policy and best practice is adopted and matters are communicated to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the HR function in line with Claridge’s vision, values and goals.
  • Promote inclusion and diversity across all aspects of the Human Resources function.
  • Proactively promote and represent Claridge’s and Maybourne in the external market place, maintain a valuable network and access to up to date information and best practice within the HR arena and industry.

Successful candidates for our Assistant Director of Human Resources opportunity will:

  • Demonstrate genuine dedication to Claridge’s and its people and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service.
  • Have worked within a similar role within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  • Have CIPD qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Have a well rounded background across the HR remit and be able to demonstrate proven experience of UK employment law.
  • Excellent IT and administration skills
  • Have immaculate personal presentation, with a welcoming personality
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment, maintaining high standards and detail, and consistent and genuine colleague care.
