We have an opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our brilliant finance team at our Global HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne! The role will be responsible for supporting the Management Accountant through required monthly financial reporting, whilst also supporting the EMEA Finance Manager in forecasting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Supporting month-end preparation and journal postings, including but not limited to:
- Preparation of balance sheet & trial balance reconciliation for the relevant entities and ensuring SOX compliance
- Compare Actuals vs Outlook and investigate variances to support continuous improvement of forecasting process
- Reconcile all income and expenses by customer to support GtN initiative and contribution analysis
- Reconcile all A&P costs by GL and update monthly trackers
- Ownership of local sales tax compliance & other associated reporting
- Upload PIF’s – ensure new products are created in the system for each legal entity
- Engage and drive process automate PIF creation interface between PIM & Aurora
- Prepare summary accrual and provision statements each month for account managers to review
- Support EMEA Management Accountant in identifying opportunities to streamline existing processes, helping to drive change and remove non-value add tasks with the wider team
- Preparing analysis to support EMEA commercial finance manager on forecasting and ROI analysis, including but not limited to:
- Review Purchase Orders pre-month-end close and liaise with account managers to ensure alignment with Outlook
- Engage and drive process to roll-out Purchase Order system to Mayborn France entity and provide training to account managers
- Respond to ad hoc queries from account managers
- Support EMEA Commercial Finance Managers with ad hoc commercial analysis to help drive profitability and efficiency.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level within a Finance discipline
- Studying or looking to study towards accountancy qualifications (CIMA/ACCA)
- Previous experience within a fast-paced finance function
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Thorough and detailed approach
- Ability to manage and work to tight deadlines as this hybrid role requires effective time management to balance various requirements
- Commercially minded with the ability to spot trends, including those which may be unexpected, and to have the curiosity to question and sense check in order to fully understand changing scenarios
- Stakeholder management skills and a strong communicator, confident in building relationships and developing rapport
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new ways of working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a proactive approach to learning new systems, including Insights BI and Aurora
