This role is central to the smooth day-to-day running of both HAB gallery and MAY studio, supporting the delivery of exhibitions, events, and studio operations. Acting as a key point of contact across both spaces, the role ensures all visitors, clients, artists, and collaborators experience a professional, welcoming, and well-organised environment. It plays an important part in maintaining operational flow, supporting creative programming, and connecting activity between the gallery and studio.
2 days per week – Thursday to Friday 9-6pm. May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends during events, exhibitions, and busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning and delivery of exhibitions, events, workshops, and talks
- Respond to gallery enquiries and booking requests
- Act as a key point of contact for gallery hires on working days
- Coordinate event logistics including staffing, vendors, equipment, and installs
- Ensure smooth running of events, including occasional evenings/weekends
- Maintain gallery calendar and scheduling
- Provide front-of-house presence and ensure excellent visitor experience
- Support liaison with artists on exhibitions and installs
- Assist with artwork handling, installation, and de-installation
- Assist in reviewing artist proposals and exhibition materials
- Support space hire and event delivery
- Act as first point of contact for studio visitors and clients
- Manage studio inbox and respond to general enquiries
- Maintain studio presentation and client-facing areas
- Support day-to-day studio operations and coordination
- Assist with bookings, couriers, and general logistics
- Support stock control and ordering of studio supplies
- Ensure smooth running of front-of-house studio experience
Cross-Business Support
- Support coordination between HAB and MAY where required
- Assist with projects involving both gallery and studio
- Help maintain consistent client and visitor experience across both spaces
- Support movement of clients and opportunities between businesses
Development of the Role
