Our client, an established global City financial institution is seeking a Legal & Compliance Assistant. This is an amazing career opportunity to support the Head of Compliance and the corporate legal team in all aspects of legal administration and compliance procedures relating to the financial/commodities markets. This role is ideally suited to a Law Graduate with post study professional qualifications or Legal Assistant with experience of working in a legal or compliance team either from a Law Practice or Corporate/Company Secretariat (in-house) setting. A banking or financial services background preferable or genuine interest to move into this sector as our client will provide further professional development and study package for the CISI qualification.
Amongst the responsibilities of the Legal & Compliance Assistant will be:
- Preparing and proofreading documentation
- Communication with other global offices
- Filings to Companies House
- Undertaking Legal research
- Preparing Board packs, minuting board meetings, and circulating board resolutions
- Undertaking KYC checks
- Preparing Presentations
- Drafting and negotiation of contracts
Legal & Compliance Assistant – what we\’re looking for:
- A Minimum of 12 months experience working within a Legal/Compliance department within a Financial Services organisation
- A graduate in Law or a related subject or possessing similar level of qualification.
- Passion for legal and regulatory work
- Ability to manage a varied workload in a deadline driven environment.
- MS Office skills
- A Team player who can also work autonomously
