About the role
We are seeking a high-level IT Service Manager with extensive experience in IT service management within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, along with deep technical skills and proven people management capabilities. You’ll lead IT services that support core business applications and align with business strategy, regulatory standards, and modern industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve the IT service and support function for core business applications.
- Ensure ITIL-aligned processes: incident, problem, and change management.
- Support root cause analysis and resolution for application and infrastructure issues.
- Manage and mentor a team of 4–5 IT professionals.
- Oversee third-party vendors and partners (hosting, support, development).
- Drive compliance with ISO27001, security policies, and operational resilience.
- Align IT operations with business strategy, budgeting, and innovation goals.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in IT service management, at least 7 in leadership roles.
- Strong experience in the financial services industry and regulatory environments.
- Background in multi-tiered UNIX systems, networking, and application stacks.
- Skills in scripting or programming: Shell, Perl, PHP, Java, SQL.
- Familiarity with SAP Basis, Sybase, MySQL, Apache/JBoss, Jira/Confluence.
- Strong vendor management and governance experience.
- ITIL certification is a plus.
