As Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance activity across multiple campuses, including:
- Long-term and preventative maintenance planning
- Compliance inspections and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and building fabric assets
- Management of Direct Maintenance Services and minor works programmes
- Overseeing in-house teams and external contractors
- Ensuring all activities are compliant with Health & Safety and environmental regulations
- Supporting the development of long-term maintenance strategies and budgets
- Leading, motivating and developing staff to maintain professional standards across the service
You will also take part in the out-of-hours on-call rota, supporting the institution’s commitment to a safe and well-maintained environment at all times.
About You
You will bring:
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in estates, facilities, or a related discipline
- Substantial experience in asset and maintenance management within a large, multi-site organisation
- Proven experience managing teams, contractors and term contracts
- Strong technical knowledge of compliance, maintenance and project management
- Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills
- A customer-focused, proactive and solution-oriented approach
Qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely are essential, while additional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate) would be advantageous.
