Maxwell Consultancy are currently recruiting on behalf of a Tier One Main Contractor for a Senior Building Services Package Manager with a bias in Electrical (Low Voltage) to join their team in Central Scotland. This global business has multiple projects within the Commercial, Healthcare, Education and Residential Sectors. This is a terrific opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading Main Contractors on a permanent basis at a time when their portfolio is increasing rapidly.
The ELV (extra low voltage) Package Manager will be responsible for producing design reviews, method and time related information required for tenders, management of construction, completion and post‑construction obligations.
Key responsibilities:- Understanding low voltage services including design principles, construction techniques, commissioning and handover requirements.
- Assist the commercial team with value engineering opportunities, variations and disputes.
- Understand health & safety rules and regulations, CDM and company policies.
- Responsible for managing multiple packages on site, including Audio Visual System, Active IT Equipment, Data Network Infrastructure/Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, Fire Alarm, Emergency Voice Communications and Refuge/Alarm Systems.
- Produce scope of works for subcontractor tendering.
- Maintain close liaison with the onsite construction team to ensure delivery and monitoring of works by subcontractor and specialists.
- Assist with developing commissioning strategy, programme and close liaison with commissioning managers and technical authors to set up the systems and prepare O&M manuals and technical documentation for the end user.
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Preferably from a trade background specifically in Fire and Security; holding HNC or HND qualifications is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to understand low voltage services including design principles, construction techniques, commissioning and handover requirements.
- Strong communication skills to cooperate with subcontractors, consultants and other team members.
- Understanding of health & safety rules and regulations, CDM and company policies.
- Commercial and financial understanding – ability to contribute to value engineering as part of the design process.
- Impressive salary dependent on experience, typically between £65,000 and £75,000.
