Maxwell Consultancy are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join an established, growing engineering business in Glasgow. This role is key to ensuring that all inspection activities—including the setup and operation of CMMs—are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company and customer requirements. You will work closely with production teams to interpret engineering drawings, identify critical dimensions, and ensure that any defective components are escalated and processed without delay. This is a Monday to Friday position, requiring availability for both day and night shift working. Key Responsibilities * Carry out Goods In, First Off, Running, Pre & Post Subcontract, and Final Inspection activities. * Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date inspection records. * Process non‑conforming products promptly and effectively. * Support the completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). * Check and calibrate measurement equipment. * Manage and process customer returns. * Apply first‑principle inspection methods with proficiency. * Adhere to Castle’s Health & Safety and Environmental Policies. * Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments. * Maintain and support 6S standards within inspection areas. * Contribute to Castle’s Zero Defects (ZD) initiatives. Essential Experience & Qualities * Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * CMM knowledge, including setup, interpretation, and reporting. * Experience with equipment calibration. * Skilled in the use of manual measuring equipment. * Competent in manual handling, including slings and lifting equipment. * Familiarity with problem‑solving tools and methodologies. * Good computer literacy. * Awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements. * Understanding of AS9100 standards. * Commitment to continuous improvement. Desirable Experience * Auditing experience within a similar environment. * Knowledge of critical parts and associated inspection requirements. * Experience in aerospace production. * Awareness of PCDMIS software. * Hands‑on CMM operating experience.
