Maxwell Bond are working with a financial services client who are building out a brand-new Consumer Asset Finance team and looking to bring an experienced Underwriter on board. This is a great opportunity to join at an early stage, get stuck into shaping the product, and make a real impact from day one.
You’ll be assessing credit applications for Hire Purchase agreements across a range of assets. The role comes with a delegated lending mandate, and you’ll be expected to work within agreed SLAs while balancing risk with commercial thinking.
They’re after someone with solid experience in consumer asset finance who’s confident making credit decisions, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Key responsibilities:- Underwrite credit proposals within mandate, working to agreed SLAs
- Assess financial information and make sound, commercial lending decisions
- Work closely with other underwriters and stakeholders to gather the right information for decisions
- Help shape processes and continuously improve how things are done
- Support efforts to automate and streamline decisioning where possible
- Contribute to a strong customer journey and overall lending strategy
