We are seeking an Application Support & DevOps Engineer to take ownership of UK production systems supporting business-critical .NET applications within a secure, sovereign environment. This is a hands-on role combining application support, DevOps, and production ownership. You will act as a key technical interface between UK stakeholders and offshore engineering teams, ensuring live systems remain stable, secure, and performant.
The role is best suited to someone who has previously operated in a security-cleared or regulated environment (SC or NPPV L2 within the last 3 years) and is comfortable working in production-critical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Own and support UK production environments for .NET applications
- Lead resolution of complex live incidents (L2/L3 support)
- Perform root cause analysis across application, infrastructure, and database layers
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and support deployment and release processes
- Troubleshoot and optimise SQL Server performance and data issues
- Collaborate with offshore engineering teams to deliver fixes and improvements
- Act as a senior technical point of contact for UK stakeholders and clients
- Support incident management, monitoring, and post-incident reviews
- Must have held SC clearance or NPPV Level 2 within the last 3 years
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET / C# applications
- Background in application support, DevOps, or production engineering roles
- Advanced SQL Server experience (performance tuning, troubleshooting, complex queries)
- Experience supporting live production systems and incident resolution
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release processes
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
- Experience working in structured or regulated environments
- Strong troubleshooting across application, infrastructure, and database layers
- Confident operating in high-pressure production environments
- Strong stakeholder communication skills (technical and non-technical)
- Ability to work independently while coordinating across distributed teams
- Strong incident management and escalation handling experience
- Experience in government, defence, policing, or regulated sectors
- Exposure to UK data sovereignty or compliance frameworks (e.g. UK GDPR)
- High-availability or mission-critical system support experience
- DevOps / cloud certifications (Azure / AWS)
- Ownership of critical UK production systems
- Senior technical responsibility in a secure, high-trust environment
- Blend of DevOps, .NET application support, and stakeholder engagement
- Collaboration with UK stakeholders and offshore engineering teams
- Stable, long-term programme with real operational impact
