You will lead the design and build of modern data platforms and analytics products in a cloud-first environment. You will own platform direction, deliver scalable pipelines, and support advanced analytics and AI use cases. A key part of this role is hands-on work with Microsoft Fabric and AI. You will help shape how both are used together to deliver real business value.
What you will do:
- Own the data platform. Define standards, architecture, and best practice across storage, pipelines, and analytics.
- Design and deliver end to end data architecture. Focus on scalability, reuse, and performance.
- Move legacy and hybrid systems into a modern cloud data platform.
- Build and optimise automated data pipelines using SQL, Spark, and Python.
- Develop feature pipelines to support machine learning use cases.
- Set up CI/CD for data pipelines, models, and analytics assets.
- Monitor performance, control costs, and improve reliability of pipelines.
- Support enterprise reporting platforms. Improve data models, performance, and refresh cycles.
- Build governed semantic layers and reusable data products.
- Enable data science teams. Provide environments, tooling, and secure access to data.
- Support model deployment, monitoring, and integration into production systems.
- Integrate AI and machine learning services into data products, with a strong focus on Fabric-native capabilities.
- Embed data quality, lineage, and documentation across all assets.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Lead and mentor data engineers. Raise capability across the team.
What you bring:
- Strong experience building modern data platforms in a cloud environment.
- Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and Spark.
- Experience with data modelling, ETL and ELT design, and pipeline orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD for data and analytics workflows.
- Exposure to AI and machine learning platforms and integration.
- Experience with real time or streaming data pipelines.
- Strong experience with enterprise BI tools and semantic modelling.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and access control.
- Strong communication skills. You explain complex topics in a clear way.
