We have partnered with a Manchester-based technology and market research company that is looking for an AWS Platform Engineer to join its growing team. Over the past decade since their inception, they have supported some of the world's leading brands with data-driven intelligence to support growth. They've been scaling massively over the past 6 months and the rest of 2026 looks to continue this trend!

As an AWS Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for DevOps, backend, and cloud development across the company's data infrastructure, building innovative solutions that scale effectively and support the ongoing development of the platform.

What you'll do:

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the data platform's performance, architecture, and design, and take ownership of implementing those improvements.
  • Design, architect, and build internal platform tooling to support best-practice development and the delivery of data products.
  • Develop scalable, cloud-native solutions using AWS technologies.
  • Build and maintain backend services and infrastructure using Python.
  • Work with Apache Spark and Apache Airflow to develop and maintain data orchestration pipelines.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Manage IAM configurations and contribute to cloud security best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to align on scope and deliverables.

Key requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional Python engineering experience focused on AWS-based data platforms.
  • Strong experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, and supporting production data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience provisioning and managing Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and agile software development practices.
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and solving challenging technical problems collaboratively.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, code reviews, productivity, and documentation.
