Automation Test Engineer
We're partnering with an ambitious and rapidly growing technology company based in Central Manchester that is investing heavily in quality engineering and automation.
As part of their continued growth, they're looking for a skilled
Automation Test Engineer to take ownership of automation strategy, framework development, and mobile testing excellence across a modern technology stack.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping quality practices within a collaborative engineering environment where testing is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
You'll work closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile and API-driven applications.
As their Automation Test Engineer, you'll
- Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Create and execute automated test suites for mobile applications, with a strong focus on Flutter-based products.
- Lead API testing, validation, and contract testing initiatives across multiple services.
- Define and drive mobile testing strategies, including performance, regression, and release validation.
- Collaborate closely with developers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve defects quickly and effectively.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure automation is fully integrated into delivery processes.
- Continuously improve test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Be a leader for the test team (either prior experience leading a team or ready to take the step up)
- Required Experience
- 5+ years experience creating and maintaining automated test solutions for mobile applications (Flutter ideally).
- Proven ability to design and build automation frameworks from scratch .
- Strong understanding of
API testing, validation, and contract testing .
- Experience defining and executing comprehensive mobile regression strategies.
- Strong understanding of mobile application performance testing.
- Experience working directly with developers to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
- Familiarity with modern Agile development environments and CI/CD practices.
