The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of complex mechatronic systems for next-generation robotic products.

This is a highly hands-on position suited to an engineer who enjoys taking ideas from concept through prototype and into production.

You’ll contribute across the entire product development lifecycle while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-moving startup environment.

The role offers significant technical ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to influence both product architecture and engineering processes as the company scales.

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Mechanical & Mechatronic Design
  • Design complex mechanical and mechatronic assemblies from concept through production release.
  • Develop elegant, manufacturable solutions that balance performance, reliability and cost.
  • Select and integrate motion systems, actuators, sensors and mechanical components.
  • Produce detailed CAD models, engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Build, assemble and validate prototypes through hands-on testing and iterative development.
  • Product Development
  • Apply engineering analysis to validate mechanical designs, including structural and performance evaluations.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.
  • Support design verification, product validation and transition into manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement across product performance, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Engineering Excellence
  • Maintain high standards for design documentation, reviews and engineering quality.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners and suppliers to support efficient product development and production.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable engineering processes and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver fully integrated robotic systems.
  • Support system integration alongside software, controls, electrical and systems engineers.
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews and product planning activities.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing mechanical or mechatronic products.
  • Proven experience taking complex electromechanical systems from concept through production.
  • Strong understanding of motion systems, actuators, mechanical assemblies and sensing technologies.
  • Experience performing engineering analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Proficiency with modern CAD software such as Onshape, Solid Works or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and engineering change processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to prototype, test and troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
  • Nice to Have
  • Master’s or Ph D in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
  • Experience applying Design for Manufacturing (Df M) principles.
  • Strong background in dynamics, kinematics, vibration analysis or simulation.
  • Experience performing load calculations and analytical modelling of mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation or robotic control systems.
  • Experience establishing engineering documentation standards, CAD workflows or product development processes.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python or similar technical computing tools.
