We currently have a number of exciting roles with a highly successful, growing aerospace company in Manchester that are looking for a Senior Lab Technician (or Chemist) to join the team.
The role will involve working with inorganic chemicals which heavily supports the aerospace sector.
Main Duties
- Managing laboratory workload in line with strict testing requirements and time scales to ensure compliance with customer, national and international requirements
- Analysing laboratory tests for trends
- Ensuring correct actions are taken when warning limits have been reached within solution analysis (tank additions, drops, refills)
- Investigation of any failures, false failures and non-compliances
- Review of certificates for externally carried out testing
- Review of certificates for laboratory and production consumables
- Ensuring efficient stock control is always maintained
- Review of current and creating of new work instructions/technique sheets/forms, standard operating procedures and any other required documents
- Management of new qualification processes and support of the required testing
- Supporting Special Process Engineer in any additional testing requirements following customer enquiries
- Day to day use of electronic titration systems, artificial corrosion test chambers and other laboratory devices/equipment
- COSHH assessments
- Ensuring the health and safety procedures are always followed
- Supporting laboratory technician with hands on testing as required and holiday coverage
- Supporting internal and external audits from laboratory perspective
