We currently have a number of exciting roles with a highly successful, growing aerospace company in Manchester that are looking for a Senior Lab Technician (or Chemist) to join the team.

The role will involve working with inorganic chemicals which heavily supports the aerospace sector.

Main Duties

  • Managing laboratory workload in line with strict testing requirements and time scales to ensure compliance with customer, national and international requirements
  • Analysing laboratory tests for trends
  • Ensuring correct actions are taken when warning limits have been reached within solution analysis (tank additions, drops, refills)
  • Investigation of any failures, false failures and non-compliances
  • Review of certificates for externally carried out testing
  • Review of certificates for laboratory and production consumables
  • Ensuring efficient stock control is always maintained
  • Review of current and creating of new work instructions/technique sheets/forms, standard operating procedures and any other required documents
  • Management of new qualification processes and support of the required testing
  • Supporting Special Process Engineer in any additional testing requirements following customer enquiries
  • Day to day use of electronic titration systems, artificial corrosion test chambers and other laboratory devices/equipment
  • COSHH assessments
  • Ensuring the health and safety procedures are always followed
  • Supporting laboratory technician with hands on testing as required and holiday coverage
  • Supporting internal and external audits from laboratory perspective
