We currently have an exciting position for a world leading engineering OEM that is in high demand in growing markets especially in Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to join an area of the business with incredible demand from companies looking to upgrade their engineering operations across their sites in many locations in predominantly the UK, Europe and some further afield locations. If you are good at spinning lots of plates, have a good attention to detail and experience that will cross over to this role it would be great to discuss in more detail.

Job Purpose

The Internal Sales Support role at the company is central to supporting the delivery of engineering projects within the manufacturing industry. Working closely with Sales, Engineering and customers, this role ensures the smooth handling of new enquiries, quotations, and order processes. You will act as a key liaison between commercial and technical teams, helping translate customer requirements into practical, engineered solutions. This role requires a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage detail within complex, project-based sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team in managing enquiries and orders relating to engineering projects
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing responsive and professional communication throughout the sales process
  • Liaise closely with Engineering and Sales teams to interpret customer requirements, specifications and project scope
  • Prepare detailed quotations ensuring technical and commercial accuracy
  • Coordinate internal communication between Sales, Engineering, and Operations to support project delivery
  • Manage order processing and maintain accurate records within the CRM and ERP systems
  • Track and follow up on quotations, supporting conversion of opportunities into confirmed orders
  • Proactively identify and resolve customer issues, offering practical and commercially sound solutions
  • Assist in planning and attending industry exhibitions and trade shows (occasional travel required)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and customer experience

Working Pattern

  • Predominantly office-based role
  • Hybrid working available (1–2 days from home) after successful completion of a qualifying period
  • Occasional travel for exhibitions and customer visits

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a customer-facing role within a technical manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on routine and day-to-day challenges without close supervision
  • Works collaboratively across teams, contributing effectively while taking ownership of individual responsibilities
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with Engineering or technical teams
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic technical specifications and drawings
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach

Desirable

  • Exposure to capital equipment sales cycles or project-based sales
  • Familiarity with export processes or international customers
  • Experience supporting or attending trade exhibitions
  • European language skills
