About the Role
As a Doctor Functional Assessor at Maximus, you will use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You will work on complex cases involving veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries, and respiratory diseases. A tailored training programme will support your success, with six weeks of training followed by ongoing mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone, video, or face‐to‐face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life.
- Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in determining a person's eligibility for benefits.
- Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision.
Requirements
- Valid GMC registration number.
- At least one year of broad post‐registration experience gained within or outside the NHS.
- Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship is provided.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.
