About the Role
As a Nurse Functional Assessor at Maximus, you will use your clinical expertise to assess how a person's disability or health condition affects daily life. You will handle complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions, chronic pain disorders, and provide compassionate support to customers. Your day will include telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments, produce Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and receive structured training and mentorship.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments (telephone, video or face‑to‑face) to understand the impact of disability or health conditions on daily life.
- Produce PIP reports to assist the DWP in determining eligibility for benefits.
- Apply clinical knowledge in a new setting with regular feedback and supervision.
Requirements
- Valid NMC registration number.
- At least one year of broad post‑registration adult or mental‑health experience (NHS or equivalent).
- Right to work in the UK – no sponsorships offered.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable using computer software for typing and detailed reports.
