Working Hours: Permanent, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm – Hybrid. Full and part‑time available.

About the Role

As a Nurse Functional Assessor you will use your clinical expertise to assess how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life, primarily in relation to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) referrals. You will conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments, produce detailed PIP reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and provide feedback and outcomes on complaints and enquiries relating to healthcare professionals. The role involves complex cases with physical and mental health conditions, chronic pain disorders, and requires a compassionate, client‑focused approach.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life.
  • Produce Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine a person’s eligibility for benefits.
  • Utilise your clinical knowledge in a new setting with the support of regular feedback and supervision.

Requirements

  • Valid NMC registration number.
  • At least 1 year of broad post‑registration adult or mental health experience gained within or outside of the NHS.
  • Right to work in the UK – sponsorship not available.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.
