As a Doctor Functional Assessor at Maximus, you will use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. Your responsibilities include carrying out thorough assessments, producing clear and factual reports to support benefit entitlement decisions, handling complaints and enquiries related to PIP referrals, and providing outcomes and feedback on all complaints about healthcare professionals. You will work on complex cases involving veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries, respiratory diseases, and vaccine‑related cases, using your compassion and experience to help customers move forward with their lives.
Responsibilities
- Carry out clinical reviews and provide case managers with advice on complaints and enquiries from customers, representatives, and DWP.
- Produce accurate and detailed reports for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Work Capability Assessments (WCA) and Industrial Injuries Benefit (IIB).
- Deliver outcomes and feedback on complaints about healthcare professionals to support professional development and business improvement.
- Participate in the tailored training programme and use digital tools confidently to document assessments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid GMC registration number.
- At least 1–5 years of post‑registration clinical experience in the UK.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate, detailed reports.
- Professional and empathetic approach, capable of assessing a wide range of complex and mental health cases.
- Proactive learner who is open to developing new skills outside traditional clinical settings.
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
- Comfortable using computer software and digital tools for reporting.
