The role is necessary to carry out clinical reviews and provide case managers with advice in relation to complaints and enquiries in connection with PIP referrals. Complaints and enquiries can come from customers, representatives (including welfare rights groups & MPs), as well as DWP. Part of the role is also to provide outcomes and feedback on all complaints about healthcare professionals that is used as part of professional development and improvement in addition to being utilised to make overall business improvements.
As a Nurse Functional Assessor at Maximus, you'll use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders, while your compassion and experience helps customers move forward with their lives. The role can be both challenging and rewarding, which is why we provide a tailored training programme to help you thrive. You'll begin with formal training before assessing customers and have ongoing support and mentorship in your role with us.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life
- Produce Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine a person’s eligibility for benefits
- Utilise your clinical knowledge in a new setting with the support of regular feedback and supervision
- Valid NMC registration number
- At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience gained within or outside of the NHS
- You MUST have the right to work in the UK – we cannot offer sponsorships
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
- Flexible working – full-time, part-time and hybrid
