Description: Deliver accredited and non-accredited hospitality training for adults, assessing learner needs, creating Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) with SMART goals, and embedding personal and social development to prepare learners for further study or employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer pre-course screeners, diagnostics and assessments, then develop and maintain tailored ILPs.
- Plan and deliver lessons that are innovative, differentiated and aligned to individual learners’ goals.
- Train, assess, motivate, mentor and support learners, helping them develop personal and social skills.
- Deliver teaching, learning and assessment that stretches and challenges participants; create bespoke resources and materials.
- Promote, schedule and deliver training in line with qualification and centre guidelines.
- Embed Maths, English, Digital, Soft Skills and PDBA themes (including prevent/safeguarding) within the curriculum.
- Provide additional support to learners with SEND or ESOL needs.
- Conduct regular reviews with learners to monitor engagement, progress and address emerging needs.
- Maintain accurate learner records, both hard and electronic, ensuring evidence is audit-ready.
- Use MIS (including ILR data) to track progress against ILPs and KPIs, and intervene where trends indicate shortfalls.
- Monitor attendance and ensure all assessment elements are completed to enable qualification attainment.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of key documents, policies and procedures (e.g. Self-Assessment Reports, Quality Improvement Plans).
- Implement improvements identified in performance reviews and internal quality assurance processes.
- Participate in standardisation and team meetings, completing CPD activities such as Observations of Teaching & Learning.
- Maintain professional knowledge, skills and experience through formal training, networking and self-reflection.
- Encourage, gather and respond to learner and stakeholder feedback, feeding into Maximus Training’s quality improvement cycle.
- Engage in staff review and performance management processes, identifying and meeting training needs.
Training Delivery:
- Deliver accredited/non-accredited programmes to 19+ adults in hospitality and related disciplines.
- Use a multi-disciplinary approach if required, prioritising those with cross-subject expertise.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Level 3 teaching qualification (PTTLS or equivalent).
- English and Maths to at least Functional Skills Level 2.
- Level 3 Award Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement or equivalent.
- Subject-specific experience or knowledge for hospitality.
Desirable:
- CTTLS qualification.
- Level 4 Award in Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice or equivalent.
- Experience with online learning platforms and digital portfolios.
Individual Competencies:
- Deploy motivational strategies to support individual development.
- Proven adult or work-based learning, teaching and assessment experience.
- Track record of delivering funded employability programmes to complex learners.
- IT literacy: Microsoft Office 365, Teams and modern digital technologies.
- Manage and support learners and colleagues face-to-face and remotely.
- Achieve positive outcomes for unemployed participants (e.g., sustainable jobs, further education).
- Plan and organise caseload and diary independently.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Meet or exceed retention and achievement targets for qualifications and progression.
- Manage learner numbers in line with budgets and delivery profiles.
- Deliver engaging presentations.
- Reliability and adherence to employment contract, including good sickness record.
- Commitment to quality and customer service.
- Flexibility to deliver face-to-face or online training, including evenings and weekends.
- Perform additional tasks appropriate to the level of the post.

Travel Requirements:
