We are looking for an experienced trainer with a Level 3 teaching qualification to support adult learners in a warehousing and logistics environment. The role involves assessing learner needs, delivering training, maintaining records, and supporting the overall quality improvement of our programs.
About the Role
- Assess learner needs/skills through pre‑course assessments, develop an ILP with SMART goals to address barriers/skills needs.
- Deliver outstanding, personalised, accredited or non‑accredited interventions with embedded personal/social development to help prepare learners for further learning, employment or improved confidence.
Key Duties
- Pre‑course assessments and Planning: Administer screeners, initial and diagnostics assessments for each learner and subsequently develop and maintain tailored ILPs (inc. action plans) to include SMART targets. Plan lessons effectively and ensure that activities are innovative and differentiated toward individual learners and that learner support is effectively assessed, reviewed, implemented and evaluated throughout the learner’s journey.
- Training Delivery: Deliver accredited and/or non‑accredited training programmes to 19+ adults in subject areas such as Warehousing & Logistics. Train, assess, motivate, mentor and support learners, assisting them to develop personal and social skills to better prepare them for work and independence. Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment to learners, ensuring the curriculum provides appropriate stretch and challenge. Develop resources and bespoke materials to meet the needs of learners and employers. Promote and deliver training in accordance with qualification and centre guidelines. Embed Maths, English, Digital, Soft Skills and PDBA (Personal Development Behaviour & Attitudes) themes into delivery as required. Provide effective additional support to learners with additional learning needs. Undertake regular and meaningful reviews with learners to keep them engaged and progressing.
- Record Keeping: Maintain learner records accurately, both hard copy and electronically, and ensure all evidence for all visits is readily available and accessible for audit and quality purposes.
- Caseload Management: Use MIS (incl. ILR) data to track learner progress against the ILP and KPIs and address any trends toward shortfalls via one‑to‑ones, action plans etc. Monitor learner’s attendance, progression and ensure all elements of the qualification are completed to meet criteria for achievement.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute toward the development, implementation and monitoring of key documents, policies and procedures (e.g. Self‑Assessment Reports and Quality Improvement Plans). Implement any improvements identified as a result of performance reviews and internal quality assurance. Take part in standardisation and team meetings and complete continuing professional development activities (incl. Observations of Teaching & Learning), as required.
- Professional Development: Maintain own professional/occupational knowledge, skills and experience, including formal training/networking. Encourage, undertake and respond to learner and stakeholder feedback, contributing to the cycle of quality improvement. Participate in any staff review/performance management processes.
Who We Are Looking For
- Hold a Level 3 teaching qualification (PTTLS or equivalent) and, where required, subject‑specific qualifications or occupational knowledge for Adult Skills delivery.
- Level 3 Award Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement or equivalent.
- Experience of deploying motivational strategies to develop individuals.
- Proven experience of adult or work‑based learning, teaching and assessment.
- Proven track record of delivering funded employability programmes with complex learners.
- IT literate in Microsoft Office, Teams and modern digital technologies.
- A track record of managing and supporting colleagues and learners face‑to‑face and remotely.
- Proven track record of working with the unemployed on programmes facilitating positive outcomes.
- Ability to plan and organise own caseload and diary unsupervised.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills, forging relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
- Will be allocated an onsite base location (Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield) but must be willing to travel across all sites.
