A global market leader in automotive technical services is seeking a Senior Global Learning and Development Manager to design, implement and embed a new global framework for technician training, development and assessment. This role will transform how technicians learn, grow and deliver excellence, ensuring consistency and quality across all regions. This is a high-impact global leadership role designed for someone who excels in building world-class training standards across diverse countries and cultures. You will shape the future of technician development by defining and embedding a unified global framework that improves safety, quality, confidence and capability across thousands of technicians worldwide.

What You’ll Lead

  • Development and implementation of a global Technician Training, Development & Assessment framework.
  • Partnership with multiple countries to support adoption, change management and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluation of current training models, identifying gaps and driving standardisation of mandatory elements.
  • Creation of a global measurement framework to track effectiveness, speed of training and impact on key KPIs such as safety, quality, engagement and operational performance.
  • Championing digital learning tools, analytics and innovative training solutions.
  • Identifying new technologies and approaches to enhance the technician learning journey.

Experience required

  • Leadership experience in global training, technical operations or a multi-country technical environment.
  • Strong grounding in adult learning principles, instructional design and assessment methodologies.
  • Experience delivering large-scale training programmes and leading multicultural, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • A strategic mindset balanced with hands-on execution.
  • Ideally experience in automotive, field operations or related technical industries; however, my client is open to broader sectors if you can evidence creating a training framework globally with tangible results and metrics.
