Frazer Jones is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a major travel organisation, part of a globally recognised group with exciting growth plans. With a workforce of c.10,000 employees across the UK, this is a business that prides itself on their friendly, down‑to‑earth culture, low attrition, and a long‑standing, loyal workforce. It’s an environment where people stay, collaborate, and genuinely care about the communities they serve.
Due to continued growth and the need for greater alignment across the organisation, the CHRO is looking to appoint a Head of Reward. This is a newly created role and represents a rare opportunity to build and shape the reward function from the ground up. The remit spans compensation, benefits, job architecture, pay governance, union engagement, and the modernisation of reward processes as the business transitions to a new HRIS.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing a total reward strategy aligned to business objectives
- Leading the annual pay review and bonus allocation processes
- Review and enhancement of their employee benefits offering
- Conducting market benchmarking using Willis Towers Watson data
- Establishing salary ranges, job families, and grading structures within the new HRIS
- Creating reward policies covering promotions, allowances, and pay governance
- Providing modelling, insights, and proposals for senior leadership approval
- Ensuring compliance with equal pay, gender pay gap, and regulatory requirements
- Overseeing benefits processes and communications, ensuring clarity and consistency
- Acting as the subject matter expert for Compensation and Variable Pay matters
- Providing oversight to the payroll function (led by the Head of Payroll)
- Supporting finance with budgeting and forecasting for pay and bonus cycles
- Engaging with trade unions and helping streamline fragmented pay negotiations
- Partnering with HRBPs, finance, and operational leaders to embed reward frameworks across the organisation
This is a broad, strategically significant role that offers exceptional scope for impact. The successful candidate will bring proven experience as a senior reward professional, ideally from a heavy industry company background. It’s essential that the candidate has experience with WTW and navigating unionised workforces and diverse employee groups. Expertise in HRIS implementations is a bonus. It’s essential that you can provide examples of designing and delivering a reward strategy and working on job architecture projects. You will be analytical, structured, and highly organised, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex information with clarity. A strong grasp of pay structures, job architecture, and reward governance is key, alongside the confidence to build processes where none currently exist.
The salary on offer is circa £95,000 DOE plus an annual bonus, with three days per week required in their London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a reward leader who wants to create meaningful change, modernise systems, and bring cohesion to a large, multi‑site organisation. This is a hands‑on role that also has significant strategic influence, so would suit someone that enjoys rolling up their sleeves and getting into the detail but also owning strategic projects. The CHRO will consider seasoned Heads of Reward or established Managers that are looking to make the step up. Therefore, this could be a progressive opportunity for someone looking to advance their reward career.
